Re: Comments of the New York Building Congress on the Draft Environmental Assessment Prepared for the South Ferry Terminal Relocation Project

Dear Chairman Kalikow:

The New York Building Congress, a coalition of the design, construction and real estate industry in New York City supports the environmental assessment of the South Ferry Terminal project and urges the MTA to move the project forward quickly.

This project, fully funded by the Federal Transit Administration, is environmentally benign, vital to Lower Manhattan’s revival and long overdue. The project proposed will not only ease transportation for innumerable commuters to Lower Manhattan but will markedly improve the economy of the area and the City at large.

Please be assured that, as you move forward in your efforts to improve and rebuild Lower Manhattan, the Building Congress will continue to support you and your colleagues at the MTA. We appreciate your leadership and look forward to working with you in every possible way.

Sincerely,

Richard T. Anderson
President
