Salutes Robert S. Peckar, Esq.
The
Building Congress thanks Robert S. Peckar who recently stepped down
as General Counsel after 15 years of exceptional service to the
industry. As founding partner of Peckar & Abramson, PC, one
of the nation's leading law firms, Mr. Peckar provides highly specialized
professional services to the construction industry.
Mr. Peckar focuses his creativity and diverse talents on fostering
greater cooperation and moving important projects forward. As a
leader of the Building Congress, no one has been more instrumental
in revitalizing the organization and ensuring that it addresses
the needs of all building
community participants.
No matter where his energies are focused on his firm,
on the Building Congress or on numerous other civic and construction
organizations with which he volunteers his time, Bob Peckar is all
about results and the betterment of the building community,
says Building Congress President Richard T. Anderson. It has
been an absolute pleasure to work with a man who so embodies the
best of the construction industry's teamwork, ethics and spirit.
Anderson added, For his many contributions, we are pleased
to announce that Bob will be honored at the Building Congress Industry
Recognition Dinner in October.
Mr. Peckar, who co-founded Peckar & Abramson in 1978, is one
of the nation's leading advocates for the appropriate use of Alternative
Dispute Resolution (ADR) procedures. Throughout his career in construction
law, Mr. Peckar has participated as a guest lecturer to local and
national construction industry groups as well as in continuing legal
education programs. An author of many articles on construction law
topics, Mr. Peckar is also a contributing author in several construction
law textbooks and the author of New Jersey Construction Law.
In addition to the Building Congress, Mr. Peckar has served as general
counsel to the Building Contractors Association of New Jersey and
the National Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA).
He is a fellow of the American College of Construction Lawyers and
a graduate of both Rutgers University and Columbia Law School.
