The New York Building Congress recently named
Laura Gallo, an executive with extensive experience
in public policy, government relations and the law,
to serve as Vice President - Policies & Programs.

In her role, Ms. Gallo assumes primary responsibility
for identifying and tracking issues of importance
to the membership and coordinating the activities
of many Building Congress committees. Specific
areas of responsibility include: public policy analysis;
outreach to and communication with other industry associations and organizations; coordination of Building Congress Political Action Committees; and assistance with membership recruitment activities.

She comes to the Building Congress after spending nearly six years as a Senior Attorney for Law and Public Policy for MCI, Inc. in New York.

While with MCI, Ms. Gallo developed and managed advocacy and litigation strategies for strategic corporate policy positions; drafted and edited key publicly filed documents; and was responsible for fostering
relationships with regulators and for building coalitions around important industry-wide objectives.

Prior to MCI, Ms. Gallo worked with the Federal Communications Commission and the National Exchange Carrier Association. A graduate of Colgate University, she earned her law degree from Albany Law School of Union University, where she graduated Cum Laude.

“ We are pleased to have the expertise and energy of Laura Gallo to help support our efforts to encourage the City’s continued prosperity and growth,” said Building Congress Chairman Dominick M. Servedio.

“Laura brings to the Building Congress valuable experience in government relations and public policy and is recognized as an accomplished coalition builder, which is a tremendous asset for our members and our industry.”
