Mai Hariu, an executive with experience on key New York City economic development and public policy issues, joined the New York Building Congress in September as Director of Programs and Membership Development.

In her position, Ms. Hariu will work closely with other Building Congress staff to coordinate Building Congress committees, maintain and enhance membership enrollment and services and conduct outreach to industry associations, labor organizations and government entities.

Prior to the Building Congress, Mai served as Assistant Director of the Hudson Yards Coalition, which played a key role in the plans to develop Manhattan’s far west side. In this position, she worked closely with the office of Daniel L. Doctoroff, Deputy Mayor for Economic Development and Rebuilding, as well as the Department of City Planning, NYC2012, the New York Jets, and a range of civic, business, labor and building associations.

"We‘re excited to have Mai join us at the Building Congress," said Chairman Frank J. Sciame.
"We got to know her through our collective efforts on the West Side development project and were very impressed with her tireless and creative work. She is a great asset to this industry.
