ASCEND 2020: Hack the Building Code Webinar

Have any of your innovations resulted in any cost savings on insurance?

Not to our knowledge however, speaking with insurance industry, there may be some contemplation in the implementation of health risk mitigation.

For AJUSTCO, what are advantages copared to cast-in-place embedded anchors?

Great question. The cast in place anchors that have been around for a while have flaws which is why they have not been widely adopted.

1. They stick up on the deck and are often knocked out by the crew installing the rebar. Our product is installed in 2 parts. The first part is out of the way and the bolt is installed right before the actual concrete pour after the second rebar cage is installed.

2. The Anchor Thread has been tested up to 13,800 pounds per point with continued testing. Current embeds have wieght limitations.

3. The current anchors leave a plastic part which make it difficult to patch. The Anchor Thread can easily be patched.

Can sterilyft be implanted to most existing elevator cabs or are there specific requirements for the type of car?

Yes.  It was designed for any elevator whether new, remodel or just installation of the system itself.

Can Sterilyft be used in residential buildings in addition to commercial buildings? What is the cost for the installation?

Any elevator in any application.  You can contact me at ngretsuk@cecelevator.com for costs or visit www.sterilyft.com

Is this product endorsed by ASHRAE, and have any local or state jurisdictions that you know of madating this product?

Buily on ASHRAE standards however, they have not commented yet.  AHJs in NYC and 13 other cities have reviewed and have no objections.  Additionally, State of California extnsively reviewed, as well as awarded CARB Certification

One follow-up question: does the height of the building matter, i.e, stack effect?

No.  Being a sealed system, stack effect or piston effect have no effect on system's operation
