With each passing year, the New York Building Congress is increasingly looked upon as an important source of timely, accurate and relevant information on the design,
construction and real estate industry.

In the past year alone, Building Congress research publications, which are often co- sponsored by the New York Building Foundation, have been quoted by a wide range of leading public officials as well as in editorials and news articles by virtually every daily newspaper in New York City, and in leading real estate and construction trade publications.

Bedrock of the Economy: The New York Building Industry
This industry profile provides a snapshot of a design, construction and real estate industry that is contributing nearly $61 billion to the local economy while serving as an unparalleled source of stability for residents and communities in the five boroughs, minority workers and foreign-born New Yorkers. The profile was unveiled during the Building Congress Annual Membership Meeting in January 2007.

New York City Construction Outlook: 2006-2008
Total construction spending in New York City will exceed $21 billion in 2007 and 2008, according to the annual forecast of construction activity and employment. The much anticipated report was released during a Building Congress Construction Industry Forum featuring Deputy Mayor Daniel Doctoroff. Building Congress President Richard
T. Anderson said, “This marks the sixth installment in the series and never has the
view been so positive.”

Electricity Outlook: Powering New York City’s Economic Future
In January 2006, the Building Congress published the third installment of its acclaimed series. This version examined the City’s need for additional electric generating capacity over the next 20 years, taking into account all of the major development projects planned between now and 2025. The report was released at a Construction Industry Forum featuring then Attorney General Eliot Spitzer, who endorsed the findings and pledged to aggressively address energy efficiency and reliability as Governor.
