Looking Ahead
Of course, the future will not be a steady, uninterrupted upward surge. As the rest of the country is already experiencing, there will be bumps and dips along the road. It will be during these periods, when tax revenues are down and deficits are up, that New York City and this industry will need to focus on its core strengths and continue to make the investments needed to maintain the City's prominence. If government and the private sector are willing to consistently look forward, in good times and bad, New York City will remain perfectly positioned to build upon what already has been an incredible period of tremendous change and growth and set the stage for an even stronger and more dynamic future.
